BLOCKS AND CLEATS

Particularly time-consuming and relatively arduous was the fabrication of blocks (bocèli). We needed five of them single-sheaved (for shrouds, bowline and sheet) and two of them double-sheaved (for shrouds). Their shells were made of blued stainless steel, sheaves were made on lathe from a bronze rod, and finally, the cheeks and fillers were manufactured from ashwood.

Cleats mounted on the lower part of the mast.

Small rigging cleats prepared for mounting on the shrouds.
